Overview
Classic 60/40 tin-lead solder with a rosin flux core, so separate flux is rarely needed: as the wire melts, the flux cleans the joint and the solder flows into a shiny, strong connection. 0.8 mm is the all-round diameter for through-hole parts, headers and wires. Take a 50 g spool for occasional repairs or 100 g for regular work. Solder in a ventilated room and wash your hands afterwards.
