Overview
The ball caster is the free-rolling third wheel of every 2WD robot: a steel ball in a plastic housing that supports the chassis while the drive wheels steer. Mecanum wheels carry angled rollers around the rim; four of them on four motors let a robot drive forwards, sideways and diagonally without turning.
